The drama continues to build in the B-Section battle for promotion in the 55th South African Inter-Provincial, sponsored by Tempest, after Gauteng North and KwaZulu-Natal squared the final round Foursomes at Glendower Golf Club on Friday.

James du Preez and Ross Sinclair took the first scalp for Gauteng North when the pair trounced IPT stalwart Gavin Sole and Siyanda Mwandla KZN 6 & 4, but Clayton Mansfield and Malcolm Mitchell tied the match at 1-all with a 5 & 3 win against Jason Smith and Teaghan Gauche.

KZN rookies Gregory McKay and Aneurin Gounden downed Marco Loubser and Andrew van der Knaap 3 & 2, but the Foursomes ended in a 2-all draw after Keegan de Lange and Hendrikus Stoop beat Matt Saulez and Luke Mayo 1-up.

Devon Strydom and Hannes van Dyk beat Juran Dreyer and Roedu du Plessis 2-Up and Stephen Morrison combined with Kevin Smith to win 4 & 3 for Mpumalanga.

Blaine Dormehl and Heinrich Erasmus took out Lourens Volschenk and Jaun van Greunen 3 & 2 to reduce the gap and Richard Maree and Andre van Zyl squared the match when they defeated Mpumalanga’s Andre van Heerden and Quintin Wilsnach 3 & 1.

SP Campher and Ruan Prigge won the first game 2 & 1, but the rest of the Limpopo team rallied to win three in a row to edge two points clear of Mpumalanga.
