International breakthrough for GolfRSA’s Nienaber

He beat a top international field to bag his second Global Junior Golf Tour title on Sunday, but instead of celebrating his RB German Junior success with mates, the first thing Wilco Nienaber did after a 14 hour flight from Germany and a three hour road trip from Johannesburg to Bloemfontein was to dash off to see his coach.

The Daisies gained two points for a 7.5 – 4.5 result against the Presidents Team in Wednesday’s third round to move into fourth spot on the log, but they will need to bring their A-game and more to their fourth round contest against the championship leaders GolfRSA Juniors today.

Chad Pfeifer will go in search of a second successive Canon South African Disabled Golf Open title after another stunning two-under-par 70 earned the American a three shot lead over first round pacesetter Juan Postigo from Spain on Tuesday.
The defending champion moved to four-under-par 140 and will carry a three shot lead into the final round after the 21-year-old one-legged wizard Postigo followed a 69 with a 74.

McClatchie romps to 7-shot Big Easy win

He probably sealed the deal with his three birdies in the opening nine at Killarney Golf Club, but there was more to GolfRSA National Squad player Kyle McClatchie’s win in the season-opening Sunshine Big Easy Tour event there.
He started the day with a four-stroke edge over the other amateur in the field, Slade Pickering, and, despite bogeys on 10 and 13, he signed for a three-under 67 to finish up with a seven-stroke margin over Maritz Wessels, who carded the low round of that day with a four-under 66.
