Mc Ghee wins at Durban Country club

18 Aug 2011

Barry Mc Ghee receiving the winners trophy

The Kwazulu Natal Mid-Amateur Championship was very successful and saw local boy Barry Mc Ghee, of Royal Durban, beat the rest of the 65 competitors of which 32 came from outside Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Durban Country Club's Golf Course was in excellent condition and all players were very complimentary none more than SA National Mid-Amateur golfer Rowan du Preez who said, 'This one of the best Tournaments he had played in and everything was awesome".

The Championship was played in very cold conditions, with slight rain falling in the last round. The play-off was avoided on the last hole with the last putt of the day by the Winner, Barry Mcghee of Royal Durban Golf Club. As the scores showed conditions were tough with the set up in real championship condition.
