SA Junior Team in Japan

The 2012 World Junior Golf Team Championship ended in Japan yesterday with South Africa finishing in 10th place, a total of 28 shots behind the leader. South Africa never really recovered from the sluggish start after day one. The tournament is the world’s only junior golf championship in which 13 national teams, winners of regional qualifiers held across 6 continents and participated by more than 60 national teams, compete for the world champion trophy. 

Australia won the event with a total team score of 839 for the 4 rounds with hosts Japan and Canada finishing in joint 2nd position, 2 shots behind. The powerful USA side finished a further 2 shots behind in 4th position.
